How Durham Crack Repair works
We're a referral service. We don't repair foundations ourselves. We connect homeowners in Durham Region with an independent local foundation repair contractor, and we're upfront about how that works.
Durham Crack Repair is a free referral service, not a contractor. Here's how we work.
The short version
- You tell us the problem.
Crack, leak or wet basement, plus your town. use the form. - We pass it to one local contractor.
The foundation repair company we work with for your area gets your request, usually the same or next business day. - They call you and quote.
They book an assessment, explain what they found, and give you a written quote. You decide.
How we choose contractors
We only refer contractors that meet all of these:
- An established business serving Durham Region
- Carries commercial general liability insurance
- Has WSIB coverage for its workers, or a clearance certificate
- Gives written quotes and a written warranty on its work
- Has a public history of customer reviews we can check
If a contractor stops meeting these standards, or homeowners tell us about a bad experience, we stop referring to them. Tell us about your experience, good or bad, at help@durhamcrackrepair.ca.
What we are, and what we aren't
- We are an independent website that explains foundation cracks and basement leaks in plain language and connects Durham homeowners with a local contractor.
- We aren't a contractor, an engineer or an inspector. The information here is general. Your contractor or a structural engineer can advise on your specific home.
- We don't publish reviews or testimonials on this site. Check the contractor's own reviews on Google or HomeStars before you hire.
Common questions
Who actually does the repair?
An independent foundation repair company. They assess the problem, quote you in writing, do the work, and stand behind it with their own insurance and warranty. Your agreement is with them.
Why not just search for a contractor myself?
You can, and it's a good idea to compare. We aim to save you a step: one request goes to one contractor that serves your town, instead of your number going out to a bidding list.
Will I get a lot of sales calls?
No. We don't sell your details to multiple companies. Your request goes to one contractor for that job.
How do you make money?
The contractor may pay us a referral fee for introductions. That fee doesn't change your quote, and you're never obligated to hire anyone.
